If a colour is temporarily unavailable, we replace it with the most similar Stroke & Coat shade possible. The set always contains 12 different colours. The actual selection may therefore differ from the picture or colour list.
Mayco Stroke & Coat sample set 2 – 12 glaze colours to try
The Mayco Stroke & Coat sample set 2 contains 12 different glaze colours in 59 ml bottles. It lets you get to know the Stroke & Coat range on earthenware and stoneware without buying large containers straight away. The glazes are highly opaque and can be used for fine details as well as for glazing larger areas. After firing, the surface is glossy, so you do not need an additional clear glaze.
The colour palette ranges from pinks and reds through yellow and brown to greens, blues and blacks. With one set you can test several colour directions and then buy individual shades as needed.

The set is put together from colours in the Stroke & Coat range and follows Mayco's colour selections. The following are intended:

Firing and use
The glazes are specified for a firing range from cone 06 (approx. 998 °C, guide value per Orton chart) to cone 10 (approx. 1,285 °C, guide value per Orton chart). Depending on your kiln, this covers both earthenware and stoneware. The colour in the bottle often differs from the fired result. So first glaze a test tile made from your own clay body, applying each colour in its own square, and fire it with your usual firing programme. That way you can see which shades you like and check combinations in advance.
Choosing within the range
Sample set 2 is a fixed selection of colours. You will find other selections in sample sets 1 and 3. If you particularly liked a colour, Stroke & Coat is also available individually in 236 ml bottles for glazing larger areas.
