Prym leather needles with triangular point – for neat hand stitching in leather

The Prym leather needles (art. no. 131259) are hand-sewing needles with a triangular ground point for sewing leather. The point makes it easier to pierce the material and stops it from tearing. You get 6 needles in different sizes from no. 3 to no. 7, which you can use for repairs, craft projects and leatherwork.

The needles are made of hardened, rustproof steel. Furriers and saddlers also work with this needle shape.

Which needle suits your leather?

Use the needle dimensions to choose the right one for your material: at 0.90 mm, no. 3 is the sturdiest needle and suits firmer leather and thicker thread. At 0.70 mm, no. 7 is the finest in the assortment and suits thinner leather such as nappa, where the stitch holes should stay unobtrusive.

• Position the needle and push it through the leather with even pressure
• With thick leather, push the needle with a thimble or pull it through with pliers
• Pull the thread through evenly so that the stitches are the same length and firm

Not for woven fabrics

The triangular point is made for leather. For woven fabrics and other textiles, it is better to use ordinary sewing needles, because the ground point can cut small holes in the weave.
