Clover Jumbo U-Shaped Cable Stitch Holder Set – cable needles for extra chunky yarn

The Clover Jumbo U-shaped cable stitch holder set (art. no. 3008) holds stitches while you knit cables and Aran patterns in extra chunky yarn. Thanks to the U shape, the held stitches sit in the curved part and, according to Clover, do not slip off.

The set contains two holders in two sizes: a small one for knitting needles from 8–10 mm and a large one for needles from 10–15 mm. This lets you match the holder to your needle size and your thick yarn. Both are made of ABS plastic.

Knitting a cable with them

Choose the holder that matches your knitting needle: the sizes refer to the needle size. Slip the stitches that form the cable onto the holder and place it in front of or behind the work, depending on the direction of the cable. Knit the next stitches from the needle, then the stitches from the holder. Work the cable stitches without a break if possible, so that they do not loosen or stretch. For thick yarns and wide cables with many stitches, you will need the larger holder.
