Prym Sew-On Magnetic Snap Fasteners 19 mm – Magnetic Closure for Bags and Pouches

Prym sew-on magnetic snap fasteners in antique brass (art. no. 416472) close bags and pouches and are sewn on by hand. They are made of 100% metal, have a diameter of 19 mm and two sewing holes. The magnet keeps the bag closed without a zip or button band.

According to Prym, the fasteners are washable up to 60 °C, suitable for the tumble dryer and can be ironed. That is useful if you are sewing pouches or bags that will be washed often. The antique brass look suits vintage styles and bags with metal fittings.

Sewing on the magnetic snaps

Position the two halves so that they sit exactly opposite each other when the bag is closed, and mark the positions with tailor's chalk. Sew each half on firmly through both holes with strong thread and knot the thread securely on the wrong side. On thin or soft fabrics, reinforce the area beforehand with interfacing or a scrap of fabric so that the weight of the contents does not tear the fabric.
