Prym sew-on magnetic snap fasteners in silver colour are metal magnetic closures for fastening bags, pouches and other accessories. They have a diameter of 19 mm. Both the magnetic disc and the metal disc have two holes for sewing on, so the fastener sits discreetly in the fabric.

According to Prym, the fasteners are washable up to 60 °C, suitable for the tumble dryer and can be ironed. This is handy if the bag or pouch will need washing later. The pack contains 3 pieces.

Attaching the magnetic fastener

First mark the position of the magnetic disc and the counterpart so that they sit exactly on top of each other when closed. Sew both parts firmly in place through the two holes using a strong thread. With thin fabrics, a piece of interfacing or lining sewn on under the fastener helps stop the fabric from stretching out under the pull.
