The Prym sew-on magnetic snaps (art. no. 416471) are metal magnetic fasteners that close bags, pouches and other accessories discreetly. The pack contains 3 gold-coloured snaps, 19 mm in diameter. The magnet disc and the metal disc each have two sewing holes, so you stitch them firmly to the fabric and need no pliers or rivets.

According to Prym, the snaps are washable at 60 °C, tumble-dryer safe and can be ironed. This is useful for bags and pouches that you wash regularly.

Sewing on the magnetic snaps

Mark the position on both sides of the fabric so that the magnet disc and the metal disc sit exactly opposite each other when closed. Sew both discs on with sewing thread through the two holes, passing the thread through several times so that the fastener holds when opened and closed. On lined bags, it is best to sew on the snaps before you close the lining, so the thread stays hidden.
