The Rico Design glitter multicolour chenille stem mix is a set of 10 pipe cleaners for crafting. Each stem is covered in fluffy synthetic fabric and bends easily by hand. The stems have a glitter effect. According to Rico Design, they suit little animals, figures, pieces of jewellery or charms for the Christmas tree.

Each stem is 50 cm long and 9 mm wide, giving a total of 5 m for the 10 pieces. That makes it easy to estimate the amount you need for your project. The mix of colours in the set may vary.

Working with chenille stems

For animals and figures, bend the stem around a pencil or wind it around a finger to make bodies, legs and antennae. Twist several stems together if the shape needs to be sturdier. Use side cutters to shorten them, as the wire core can blunt scissors. Finally, fold the ends over a little so the core does not stick out and prick. The stems can also be shaped into rings, spirals or stars for jewellery and charms.
