Rayher XL matchbox, kraft, 6 empty boxes, 11 × 6.5 × 2 cm

Rayher XL matchbox – 6 empty kraft boxes to decorate

The Rayher XL matchbox is an empty kraft-coloured box for covering, painting and filling. The bag contains 6 boxes, each 11 × 6.5 × 2 cm. They are sturdy and built like a matchbox, with a sliding tray and a sleeve. Matches are not included. According to Rayher, they are FSC Mix Credit.

Rayher lists them as a base for homemade advent calendars. Decorated and tied with ribbon, they also work as packaging for small gifts.

Decorating the boxes

Before you start, take the tray out of the sleeve and work on both parts separately. That way nothing sticks or dries together, and the box will slide shut easily afterwards. The kraft colour can stay visible as a natural tone, or you can cover it with paint or paper. Apply liquid glue sparingly so the card does not warp.

For advent calendars

One pack contains 6 boxes. For a calendar with 24 doors you will therefore need 4 packs. Number the trays, fill the boxes and place them side by side or thread them onto a ribbon.
