AMI Disposable Scalpels – 10 Craft Knives for Fine Cutting

The AMI disposable scalpels come in a pack of 10 and are craft knives for fine, precise cutting, for example in model making, scrapbooking or card making. You can also use them for masking and modelling. With ten in the pack, you always have a fresh knife to hand when one starts to lose its edge.

Disposable scalpels are not designed to be resharpened. As soon as the blade tears paper instead of cutting cleanly, simply switch to the next knife. This keeps edges clean on fine details.

How to cut cleanly and safely

Work on a cutting mat and guide the scalpel along a metal ruler. A wooden or plastic ruler can get nicked by the blade. Several light cuts in succession usually give a cleaner edge on card and paper than a single heavy cut, where the blade can chip or slip.

• Always cut away from your body and keep your free hand out of the cutting line.
• Do not leave the scalpel lying around loose; store it so that nobody can touch the blade.
• Dispose of used blades in a sturdy, closed container.
