Prym Omnigrid 60° Patchwork Ruler – Cutting Triangles Cleanly

The Prym Omnigrid 60° Triangle Multi patchwork ruler, 20 cm (art. no. 611656), is a specialist ruler for cutting 60° shapes in patchwork. You can cut triangles in a range of sizes with it, for example for triangle strips, diamond patterns or herringbone patterns. Half triangles, diamonds, trapezoids and hexagons can also be measured and cut with it.

The ruler is transparent, so you can see the fabric underneath and position motifs precisely. The yellow and black markings stay easy to read on both light and dark fabrics. The material is thick and guides a rotary cutter safely along the edge. The scale is printed in cm and inches, so you can also follow English patterns without converting.

Cutting triangles

First cut a fabric strip to the height you want your triangle to be. Then place a 60° line of the ruler against the edge of the strip and cut along the edge of the ruler. Turn the ruler for the next slope and cut along the edge again. This gives you triangles of an even size.

• Press the ruler firmly onto the fabric with a flat hand so that it does not slip while you cut.
• Always guide the rotary cutter away from you and keep your fingers behind the edge of the ruler.
• Iron the fabric flat before cutting so that the measurements are accurate.
