Prym sewing and knitting gauge – hand gauge with slider for hems and buttonholes

The Prym sewing and knitting gauge cm/inch (art. no. 611738) is a small hand gauge with a slider for measuring and marking right at the sewing machine, or when knitting and crocheting. The scale is divided into centimetres and inches, so you can follow your pattern without converting.

Use the slider to set measurements such as hem width or buttonhole spacing and transfer them to the fabric in exactly the same way each time. The hole in the top corner holds the setting and turns the gauge into a compass for circles and curves. You can also use it to measure sewn-in pleats.

Using the gauge

For small jobs, the gauge replaces a long ruler and stays within easy reach beside the sewing machine.

• Hem: set the slider to the width you want and move the gauge along the edge.
• Buttonholes: set the spacing once and transfer it the same way for every buttonhole.
• Circles and curves: hold the setting using the hole in the top corner and use the gauge like a compass.
• Inch side: the additional notches make marking easier.
