Prym Baby-Elastic 4.5 mm – soft elastic for baby clothes

Prym Baby-Elastic (art. no. 910350) is an extra soft, braid-covered elastic for baby clothes. It is 4.5 mm wide, so it is narrow but stays stable. According to Prym, it is skin-friendly, tested for harmful substances and certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. The soft covering means it leaves no pressure marks when worn.

With a stretch of 250 %, the elastic adapts well. You get 3 m in white on the card, enough for several small cuffs and waistbands.

Threading the elastic

The elastic is suitable for threading through casings, for example on skirt and trouser waistbands, pyjamas or jackets. The casing should be slightly wider than the elastic so that it does not twist.

• Clip a safety pin to one end of the elastic and push it through the casing.
• Hold the other end or pin it to the fabric so that it does not disappear into the casing.
• Try the length on the child or the garment before you cut the elastic. It should fit snugly without digging in.
• Sew the ends together with a few stitches, overlapping them, or with zigzag stitch, and close the opening in the casing.
