Faber-Castell Jumbo Grip – extra thick triangular colouring pencil with grip zone
The Faber-Castell Jumbo Grip (art. no. 110901) is an extra thick triangular colouring pencil for small hands. Children can colour boldly with it and blend the colour with water if they wish. The lead has a diameter of 5.3 mm and, according to the manufacturer, lays down colour softly and brightly. Thanks to its special bonding (SV), the lead is particularly break-resistant. That helps when the pencil is dropped often.
The patented grip zone and the ergonomic triangular shape give a secure hold and encourage the correct pencil grip. According to Faber-Castell, the pencil is suitable for right- and left-handers and is promoted as a learning pencil for children's hands. The name field prevents mix-ups at school and nursery. The pencil is available singly in 34 colours. Choose your colour from the options.
Using the water-soluble lead
Start by colouring as usual. Then go over the area with a damp brush, and the colour runs into watercolour-like transitions. Use sturdier paper for this, such as drawing or watercolour paper, as thin paper soon buckles with a lot of water. The more colour you apply, the more intense the shade becomes after blending. If any gets on clothing, according to the manufacturer the colour washes out of most textiles.
Who is the Jumbo pencil for?
The thick lead and triangular barrel sit comfortably in small hands and are good for practising pencil grip. If you want to draw fine details, a thinner colouring pencil is a better choice. The Jumbo Grip is made for large areas, bold strokes and free colouring.
