DEKA LACK Matt Clear Varnish – matt acrylic varnish for painting, printing and protecting
DEKA LACK Matt Clear Varnish is a water-based, highly transparent acrylic varnish with a matt finish. You can paint, print or stencil with it, and use it to protect or finish craft projects on paper, card, wood, glass, porcelain, ceramic, leather, metal, foil or polystyrene.
The varnish dries to a film that is stable in sheen, elastic and waterproof, and it is lightfast. Thanks to its elasticity, it also suits flexible surfaces such as leather or foil. Choose the quantity from the options.
Applying the varnish
The surface should be clean, dry and free from grease. Apply the varnish in thin coats with a brush or sponge and let each coat dry before applying the next. This avoids runs and a milky film. As the varnish is water-based, wash your brush and tools out with water straight after use, while the varnish is still wet. For stencilling, dab a small amount of varnish on with the sponge.
Baking on glass and porcelain
For greater durability, you can bake varnished pieces of glass or porcelain in the oven at 170 °C for 30 minutes. Then let them cool in the oven. Use the varnish for decoration, not for tableware that comes into contact with food.
Matt or gloss?
The matt varnish gives surfaces a calm, low-reflection finish. If you would like a glossy finish, choose DEKA LACK Glanz Transparentlack instead.
