Prym half-long sewing needles No. 9 are fine hand sewing needles for hems, repairs, quilting and other hand sewing. The pack contains 20 needles, 28 mm long and 0.60 mm thick. They are made of hardened steel and the point is ground fine and slim. The surface has a smooth, non-porous coating, so the needle glides more easily through the fabric.

The eye is punched burr-free, so the thread does not chafe on rough edges as it is pulled through. According to Prym, the needles are matched in spring hardness so that they do not bend or break while you sew.

What half-long needles are suited to

Half-long needles are shorter than long needles of the same number, but have the same wire diameter. This lets you guide them with more control for small, quick stitches. According to Prym, they suit backstitch, quilting, fine hand seams such as hems, and repairs. The fine point and burr-free eye are also gentle on thin fabrics.
