The Prym embroidery needles with sharp point (art. no. 125554) are an assortment of 6 needles in sizes No. 18–22. You can use them for silk embroidery, whitework and other fine embroidery. They are made of hardened steel, finished without burrs and have a finely ground point. This lets you pierce the fabric precisely, and the smooth coated surface helps the needle glide through the weave.

The eye is punched symmetrically and is large enough to thread wool or thicker yarns easily. With the assorted set you have several sizes to hand and do not need to buy a separate pack for each thread.

Which needle suits which thread?

The higher the number, the finer the needle: No. 22 measures Ø 0.9 × 40 mm, No. 20 Ø 1 × 43 mm and No. 18 Ø 1.2 × 50 mm. For fine silk and delicate fabrics, choose the thinner No. 22. For wool or thicker threads, use the sturdier No. 18, as the thread passes through the eye more easily. The needle should take the thread without making a noticeably larger hole in the fabric. Try it out briefly on a corner of the fabric. The sharp point suits closely woven fabrics, as used in whitework. For counted patterns on coarsely woven evenweave fabric, you will usually use needles without a point.
