Prym Universal Sewing Machine Needles Size 70 for Fine Fabrics

Prym Universal sewing machine needles in size 70 are replacement needles for domestic sewing machines. You can use them to sew fine to lightweight fabrics such as thin cotton, viscose or light blended fabrics. The pack contains 5 needles in system 130/705 H with a flat shank, which most domestic sewing machines use.

The slightly rounded point slides between the threads of the fabric. This is gentle on the fabric and helps produce an even stitch.

Which size suits your fabric?

The finer the fabric, the thinner the needle should be. Size 70 suits lightweight fabrics where thicker needles could leave visible holes. For heavier fabrics, the same needle is also available in other sizes, such as 60 and 80. For jersey, stretch, denim or leather there are special needle types; the universal needle is not intended for these.

Inserting and changing the needle correctly

When inserting the needle, the flat side of the shank faces the back; push the needle up as far as it will go. Change the needle as soon as the point is blunt or bent. Typical signs are skipped stitches, pulled threads in the fabric or an audible thud as the needle pierces the fabric.
