With the Clover Jumbo tapestry needle set (art. no. 340) you can weave in yarn ends on knitted pieces and mend stitches. The set contains 2 aluminium tapestry needles, each 2.5 mm thick and 7 cm long. Their tips are rounded. According to Clover, they are gentle on the yarn and stop it from splitting.

A needle-shaped plastic case with a screw-on lid is included. It keeps the needles together in your knitting bag or sewing basket, so they don't get lost. According to Clover, you need tapestry needles for hand knitting, including for darning and grafting.

How to weave in yarn ends

Thread the yarn end onto the needle and pass it along the stitches on the wrong side of the knitted piece, under the stitch loops. Because the tip is rounded, it slides between the stitches instead of piercing the yarn. Sew for about 5 to 7 cm, then take the yarn back a short distance in the opposite direction and cut it off. The end stays put without a knot showing on the right side.

With two needles you have a spare in case one goes missing. You can also weave in two colours one after the other without rethreading.
