KnitPro Zing Mini – interchangeable needle tips from 3.0 to 6.0 mm in a case
The KnitPro Zing Mini set is an interchangeable circular needle set with extra-short 5 cm tips. It is intended for small projects worked in the round, such as socks, sleeves or hats. With the 8 pairs of tips in sizes 3.0 to 6.0 mm and the cables, you put together the circular needle you need for your project.
The tips are made of aluminium, anodised in colour and finely pointed. Each needle size has its own colour, and the size is also laser-printed on the needle. This makes it easy to find the right size again, even when several tips are lying on the table. Everything is stored in a pink fabric case with a sheep motif, in envelope style.
Assembling the needle
The tips screw into the cables, and the end stoppers let you close off a cable at both ends.
- Choose the needle size your pattern or your tension swatch calls for, and screw the two tips into the ends of a cable.
- Tighten the join lightly with the cable key: insert it into the opening of the tip and turn. Check from time to time that the join has not come loose, so that the stitches do not catch at the transition.
- If you want to put a project aside, unscrew the tips and fit end stoppers on the cable ends instead. The stitches then stay on the cable and the tips are free for another project.
What is the set suited to, and what do the short tips offer?
The short 5 cm tips sit comfortably in the hand when you knit small circumferences in the round, such as socks, sleeves or baby hats. The cables come in two lengths, 27 cm and 30 cm, two of each in the set. This lets you keep two projects on needles at the same time. The set is not enough for large circumferences such as jumper bodies or blankets; for those you need longer cables.
