KnitPro ZING Special – interchangeable needle set with 8 pairs of tips, cables and accessories

The KnitPro ZING Special is a circular knitting needle set for hats, sleeves, necklines and other projects worked in the round. It contains 8 pairs of coloured, anodised aluminium needle tips, 10 cm (4") long, in sizes 3.5 / 4.0 / 4.5 / 5.0 / 5.5 / 6.0 / 7.0 and 8.0 mm. Each needle size has its own colour, so you can quickly find the right size again in the case.

The set includes 2 cables each for needle lengths of 40 cm (16") and 50 cm (20"), all with a 360° swivel, 8 cable end stoppers and 4 cable keys. You combine the tips and cables yourself, so one set covers many sizes and two lengths. The swivel lets the cable turn freely as you knit, which stops it from twisting.

Putting your needle together

Choose the needle size given in your pattern, screw both tips onto a cable and tighten the join with the cable key. A firmly tightened join stops the tip from coming loose while you knit. The 10 cm tips with a short cable make a 40 cm circular needle, which suits hats, sleeves and necklines. Use the 50 cm cable when the circumference is larger. If you want to put a project aside, screw a stopper onto the end of the cable instead of the tip so the stitches do not slip off.

Who is the set for?

The set is worthwhile if you work with different yarn weights and do not want to buy a separate needle for every project. The sizes from 3.5 to 8 mm range from finer yarns to thicker ones. The short 10 cm tips sit comfortably in the hand when you knit smaller circumferences. The parts of the KnitPro Zing range are stated to be compatible with all KnitPro interchangeable needle systems; this statement refers to the Zing Deluxe set with 13 cm tips.
