UHU plus sofortfest – fast 2-part epoxy adhesive for small surfaces

UHU plus sofortfest is a solvent-free two-part adhesive based on epoxy resin for quick, strong bonds on small surfaces. You get two tubes of 15 ml each, one with resin and one with hardener. The working time is up to 2 minutes, and the bond reaches handling strength after approx. 5 minutes. You therefore do not need to hold the parts for long, and the adhesive suits repairs and craft projects with small bonding areas. Final strength is approx. 8 N/mm².

The bond cures clear and is impact-resistant as well as resistant to ageing and moisture. According to the manufacturer, it is waterproof, including against sea water, resistant to chemicals and can be painted once cured. You can use it indoors and outdoors.

Using the adhesive

Both components are mixed in equal parts before bonding. As the working time is short, mix only as much as you can use within approx. 2 minutes.

• Prepare the surfaces to be bonded so that they are clean, dry and free from grease
• Squeeze resin and hardener in a ratio of 1 : 1 (by volume) onto a mixing surface and mix thoroughly
• Apply thinly to one or both surfaces, join the parts and hold them in place
• Use at +5 °C to +25 °C; at lower temperatures the adhesive cures somewhat more slowly
• Close the tubes immediately after use and do not swap the caps, otherwise the threads will stick together

What it is suitable for – and what it is not

UHU plus sofortfest bonds many rigid materials, including different materials such as metal to wood or glass to ceramic. It does not hold on large glass surfaces or on certain plastics.

• Suitable: metals, glass, porcelain, ceramic, wood, marble, stone, concrete, thermosets, glass-fibre-reinforced plastics, rigid PVC, rubber
• Not suitable: PE, PP, PTFE, silicone rubber, polystyrene, flexible PVC and large glass surfaces
