Rayher Rectangle Soap Mould – four sizes for soap, concrete and more

The Rayher soap mould (art. no. 34233000) has four rectangular cavities in different sizes. You can cast soap, creative concrete, Raysin or wax in it. The mould is made of PET (750 µm) and, according to Rayher, is very sturdy and reusable. Each cavity is 3 cm deep.

Here is an overview of the sizes and the amount of soap each cavity holds: 85 × 40 mm for 97 g, 55 × 40 mm for 72 g, 80 × 50 mm for 123 g and 50 × 35 mm for 68 g. This way you can weigh out the right amount for each cavity instead of guessing.

Working with the mould

Before casting, place the mould on a level surface so that the pieces come out an even thickness. Make sure your casting compound is no hotter than 60 °C, otherwise the PET may warp. Let the compound set or cool completely before removing it from the mould. This keeps the edges and surface clean. With the four sizes, you can cast small guest soaps and larger pieces in one go, or make decorative pieces from creative concrete, Raysin or wax.

Heat-resistant only to 60 °C: hotter casting compounds may deform the mould. Once a mould has been used for soap, concrete, Raysin or wax, do not use it for food again.
