Prym Professional fabric scissors – curved, with rounded blade tips

The Prym Professional fabric scissors are curved scissors, 13.5 cm long, for cutting fine fabrics and snipping threads when sewing and embroidering. They are suitable for right- and left-handers.

The blade tips are rounded. If several layers of fabric lie on top of each other, you cut only the top layer. The rounded tips are also less likely to catch in the weave or in embroidery, which protects delicate fabrics. The blade grind and blade assembly are matched so that the fabric is not crushed as you cut.

What the curved shape is for

The blades curve upwards, so the fabric lifts slightly as you cut and you guide the scissors close to the work surface. The grind extends into the curve, so corners can be cut cleanly too. With a cutting edge of around 5 cm, the scissors suit small, precise cuts, snips and the cutting out of fine fabrics. For long, straight lengths of fabric, a larger pair of scissors is a better choice.

For embroidery and sewing

As thread snips, they cut threads close to the fabric. Keep the tips flat against the weave so that you do not accidentally cut into the fabric. Use the scissors only for textiles: paper and other hard materials blunt the blades faster.
