Prym Elastic Band soft – 25 mm wide black elastic

The Prym Elastic Band soft in black is a 25 mm wide elastic for waistbands and hems on fine, lightweight fabrics. You can thread it through the hems of trousers, skirts or pyjamas, or sew it on. According to Prym, the band is stable, keeps its shape when stretched and does not dig in.

The band is made of 57 % polyester and 43 % elastodiene and is knitted. It is certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, washable up to 60 °C and tumble dryer safe. You receive 1 m.

How to use the band

For threading through, you need a casing slightly wider than 25 mm so that the band does not twist. Pin a safety pin through one end of the band and pull the band through the casing. Hold the other end firmly as you do so, otherwise it will slip in as well. Measure the length on your body and allow a little extra for joining the ends.

Threading through or sewing on?

When sewn on, the band lies directly on the fabric and can serve as a visible accent. Sew it on with a stretch stitch such as zigzag stitch and stretch it slightly as you sew, so that the seam does not break when worn. Prym also offers the band in other widths, which you can choose depending on your project.
