Prym Strong Elastic Band 25 mm – elastic for threading through and sewing on

The Prym Strong Elastic Band in white is a 25 mm wide woven elastic for trouser, skirt and waistbands, pyjamas and jackets. You get 1 m on a card (art. no. 955245). You can thread it through a hem casing or sew it onto the waistband. It can also be used as a visible feature.

According to Prym, the strong band keeps its shape when stretched, does not roll up thanks to its special weave and does not constrict. The band is certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100.

How to use the band

To thread it through, sew a casing slightly wider than the band so that it does not twist. Thread the band through with a safety pin and sew the ends together with an overlap. To sew it on, stretch the band and stitch it on with a stretch stitch, such as zigzag, so that the seam does not break when worn. Try the length against your body first.

Washing and choice of band

The band can be washed at up to 60 degrees and is tumble-dryer safe, so it also suits underwear and pyjamas. For particularly soft waistbands, Prym also offers its own soft Elastic Band. The strong band is the firmer type.
