Clover Fine Marking Pen – blue, water-erasable lines on fabric
The Clover fine marking pen (art. no. 515) draws fine blue lines on fabric, for example for seam lines, cutting lines or quilting patterns. The ink can be removed with water, so the marking does not have to stay on your project permanently. Because of the blue ink, the pen is best suited to light-coloured fabrics. The casing and cap are made of polypropylene.
For wider lines, Clover offers the "Thick" version, art. no. 516. This pen is the right choice when you want to mark precisely and thinly.
Marking and removing the line
Always try the pen first on a scrap of the fabric you are working with. That way you can see whether the marking can be removed from this particular fabric.
- Draw the line on the fabric with light pressure.
- Use water to remove it.
- Let the fabric dry completely and only then check whether the marking has disappeared.
- Do not leave it too long: if the marking stays on the fabric for more than 2 weeks, it may be difficult to remove.
What to avoid
Detergents, bleach and solvents are not intended for removing the marking. Do not use the pen on fabrics that must not be washed with water. For such materials, it is better to use a different marking tool.
