addi Maschenbären point protectors – bear-shaped stoppers for your needle tips

The addi Maschenbären (addiBears, art. no. 402-2) are point protectors shaped like little bears. You push them onto your needle tips so that no stitches slip off when you put your knitting down. The pack contains 8 bears, 2 each in blue, green, yellow and red.

The bears measure approx. 1.5–2.5 cm and are easy to carry in your knitting bag. According to addi, they are intended for needle sizes from 2 to 5 mm. You can put them on circular needles, sock needles and straight knitting needles. They also secure a set of double-pointed needles when you pause your work.

Using the Maschenbären

Put your knitting down so that the stitches are not hanging off the needle tips, then push a bear onto each tip. On sock needles and double-pointed needles this secures the free ends, and on a circular needle both tips. With eight bears, you can secure several needles at once.

• Slide the stitches back a little from the tip
• Push the bear firmly onto the needle tip
• Before packing away, check that the bear sits securely on your needle
