The Gütermann creativ Deco Stitch 70 set Col. 3 contains 10 reels of decorative stitching thread for decorative stitches and topstitching on a domestic sewing machine. Each reel holds 70 m, making 700 m in total. The thread is 100 % polyester and triple-twisted. According to the manufacturer, it has a silky sheen and an evenly round cross-section, which gives the seam a raised look. It is made in Germany using Micro Core Technology®.

According to Gütermann, thread size no. 70 is matched to the stitch density of decorative stitches on domestic sewing machines. The stitches therefore fill evenly and stand out from the fabric.

Sewing with Deco Stitch 70

Use the decorative thread as the needle thread and a sew-all thread in the bobbin, as recommended by Gütermann. The recommended needle is a universal needle NM 90–100. For decorative seams, choose a decorative stitch on your machine; you can also use the thread for classic topstitching and joining seams. Sew a test piece on a scrap of fabric first and adjust the upper thread tension if needed until the stitch looks even.

Suitable materials and projects

According to Gütermann, the thread is suitable for light to medium-weight clothing and furnishing fabrics, for leather and imitation leather, and for felt and similar materials. With 700 m per set, you can plan decorative edgings, appliqué borders or quilting patterns across several projects. Col. 3 is one of three assortments (sets 1, 2 and 3) under art. no. 702166.
