Rico Design Ricorumi DK Starter Set – 20 x 25 g Cotton Yarn, Pastels

Ricorumi DK Pastel Starter Set – 20 Cotton Yarns for Amigurumi

The Ricorumi DK starter set from Rico Design contains 20 balls of cotton yarn in pastel shades for crocheting amigurumi figures and animals. According to the manufacturer, the yarn was developed specifically for these small figures.

Each ball weighs 25 g and has a length of 57.5 m. The set therefore comes to 500 g and, by calculation, approx. 1,150 m. With 20 different colours you can crochet multicoloured figures with details such as ears, snouts or clothes, without buying a large ball of every colour.

Crocheting tips

Cotton has little elasticity and hardly gives when you crochet. Amigurumi are therefore usually worked tightly, so that the toy stuffing does not show through the stitches. Many people use a slightly smaller hook than the ball band states. According to the manufacturer, the hook size is 3–4 mm and the tension is 22 stitches and 26 rows over 10 × 10 cm. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide.

Care

Wash crocheted pieces at 30 °C on a delicate or wool cycle. According to the manufacturer, bleaching, tumble drying and ironing are not intended. Dry cleaning is possible with perchloroethylene and hydrocarbons.
