AMI Old Script Ink – quick-drying, waterproof calligraphy ink

AMI Old Script Ink is a highly pigmented, water-based calligraphy ink. You can write and paint with it using a brush, quill, calligraphy pen, writing pen or bamboo pen. The ink dries quickly, which reduces smudging with your hand when writing longer lines.

The ink dries waterproof, so later layers of water or watercolour will not dissolve the writing again. All Old Script Ink colours can be mixed with one another, so you can blend your own shades in a small dish. Choose your colour from the options.

Working with the ink

For fine lines, dip the pen or quill and wipe off excess ink on the rim of the bottle. With a brush you can apply the colour more broadly and as a transparent glaze. If you want to mix colours, do so in a separate container, not in the bottle. Test mixtures and the absorbency of your paper on a spare sheet first.

Caring for your tools

Because the ink dries waterproof, rinse pens and brushes with water straight after writing. Dried-on ink is difficult to remove later.
