Schmincke AKADEMIE Acryl color INK – liquid acrylic ink for painting and writing
AKADEMIE® Acryl color INK from Schmincke is the liquid version of AKADEMIE® Acryl color: a pigmented acrylic ink for painting and writing. It comes in an unbreakable 50 ml plastic dropper bottle and is available in 36 cadmium-free colours. Choose your colour from the options.
Pigmentation, colour range and numbering match AKADEMIE® Acryl color. If you already know the acrylic paint, you will find your colour in the ink under the same number, and the two forms combine well. The ink dries waterproof, so once dry you can paint over it or apply glazes.
Working with the acrylic ink
Shake the bottle before each use: the glass ball inside easily mixes the settled pigments back in. Use the dropper to dispense the ink drop by drop, for example into a mixing palette or directly onto the paper. You can work with a brush, a ruling pen or a liner. For writing and fine lines, use the Schmincke liners No. 2–6; gold and silver are not intended for this. For airbrush use, the ink can be sprayed with nozzles of 0.3 mm and larger. After use, rinse brushes, liners and the airbrush thoroughly with water while the paint has not yet dried, as it is waterproof once dry.
Ink or acrylic paint in a tube?
The INK is thin and intended for lines, glazes, lettering, drawings and airbrush work. For opaque, impasto application, the classic AKADEMIE® Acryl color is the better choice. As both forms have the same numbering, you can match colours between the two.
