Liquitex Basics Acrylic FLUID is a ready-to-use, fluid acrylic paint in a 118 ml (4 oz) bottle. You can use it to paint areas and details, pour, splatter or dab on colour, and for underpainting, collage and mixed media. The range comprises 48 colours. Choose your colour from the options.

The paint comes straight from the bottle with a fluid consistency, and according to Liquitex no thinning is needed. It dries to a satin finish and is fully compatible with other Liquitex acrylic paints. This means you can mix or combine it with paints of other consistencies from the Liquitex range.

What you can use the fluid acrylic paint for

According to Liquitex, the paint is suitable for all painting techniques: for fine detail as well as large areas. You can pour, splatter and dab it, use it for sketching or underpainting, and use it in collages and mixed media work. According to Liquitex, the colours in the range are flexible and UV-resistant, apart from fluorescent and metallic colours.

Fluid or thicker acrylic paint?

Basics Fluid flows more freely and, according to Liquitex, has a lower pigment content than Liquitex Professional Soft Body Acrylic. The paint flows well and can be applied evenly. For a particularly strong, impasto application or textured structures, a thicker acrylic paint is the better choice. Acrylic dries quickly: wash brushes and tools while the paint is still wet, and close the bottle tightly after use.
