LYKKE Driftwood interchangeable circular needle set – 9 sizes with cables and case

The LYKKE Driftwood interchangeable circular needle set brings together nine pairs of wooden needle tips, each 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) long, several cables and accessories in one case. You attach the tips to a cable of the right length and knit hats, sleeves, scarves, jumpers and other projects in the round, without having to buy a separate needle for every size.

The tips cover sizes from US 3 (3.25 mm) to US 10.5 (6.5 mm). The set therefore works for finer yarns right up to chunkier ones.

Assembling the set

Choose the tips in the size your pattern calls for and a cable of a suitable length. Join the two with the keys provided and tighten the connection firmly so that nothing works loose while you knit. Short cables such as 16 inches (40 cm) suit small circumferences, for example hat brims or sleeves. With 20 or 24 inches (50 or 60 cm) you can knit larger circumferences. The connectors let you join two cables into a longer one.

What the stoppers are for

If you fit the stoppers onto the cable ends, the stitches stay safely on the cable when you put a project aside or change tips. This is handy if you knit several projects at once or need a different needle size part-way through, for example for a ribbed edge.

Choosing a size

With nine sizes in steps of 0.25 to 0.5 mm, you can fine-tune your needle size. If you have not matched the tension with one needle, simply fit the next size. What matters is always the tension given in your pattern.
