Rayher papier-mâché gift card box with slot, 30 × 21 × 15 cm

Rayher papier-mâché gift card box – slotted box to decorate

The Rayher gift card box is a natural-coloured papier-mâché box with a slot in the lid. You can use it as a card box for weddings and celebrations, as a donation box or as a money box, and decorate it to your own taste. At 30 × 21 × 15 cm, it is big enough for plenty of cards and envelopes. The box is FSC™-certified and comes unprinted, so you start with a blank surface.

The lid is removable, so you can easily get at the contents when it is time to open cards or unpack gifts.

Decorating the box

According to Rayher, the box can be painted, covered with paper or fabric, decorated with a stencil or trimmed with ribbons. The papier-mâché surface absorbs paint: with a base coat of acrylic paint, the colour will cover more evenly afterwards. When decoupaging, apply the glue thinly and smooth the paper flat so the cardboard does not warp. Over the lid slot, carefully cut out the paper or fabric so that cards still fit through.

• Weddings and celebrations: collecting cards and gifts of money
• Fundraising: as a donation box
• Storage: photos, notes and small items
• DIY: money box or letter box to your own design
