Meyco Round Splatter Screen Ø 12 cm – for fine paint spatters

With the Meyco round splatter screen you spatter paint in a fine, even spray onto paper or other surfaces. The rim is made of aluminium, the mesh of stainless steel, and a handle is included. At 12 cm in diameter, the screen is easy to move over smaller motifs.

The spatter technique suits watercolour, acrylic and mixed media work, for example for backgrounds, star effects or stencil motifs.

Working with the splatter screen

Pick up watercolour or acrylic paint with a brush; a toothbrush works just as well. Hold the screen at a little distance above the painting surface and gently stroke the brush across the mesh. The paint falls downwards as a fine mist. The less paint on the brush and the lighter your strokes, the finer the spatters. Paint that is too wet tends to produce coarse drops. For motifs, cover areas with stencils, leaves or paper cut-outs.

• Apply paint sparingly to the brush
• Hold the screen steady above the surface
• Draw the brush across the mesh with light pressure
• Remove the masking only once the paint has started to dry

Cleaning

Rinse the screen with water straight after use. Dried acrylic paint quickly clogs the mesh.
