Artemio foam roller – for smooth, even paint coverage

The Artemio foam roller (sponge roller) applies paint such as acrylic paint over large areas. It consists of a plastic handle with a foam roller and measures 160 × 30 mm. You can cover backgrounds, canvases or craft surfaces in just a few strokes, without leaving brush marks.

The foam roller picks up paint and releases it evenly as you roll. On larger surfaces this saves time compared with a narrow brush.

Applying the paint

Put the paint on a palette or in a shallow tray and roll the foam back and forth in it until it is evenly coated. Wipe off excess paint on the edge, otherwise drips and bubbles will form. Roll in long, overlapping strips and work in two thin coats, letting the paint dry in between, rather than one thick coat. After use, rinse the roller straight away with water for water-soluble paints such as acrylic, squeeze out the foam and leave it to dry lying flat.
