What the script liner is for

A script liner has a long, slim bundle of hair. It holds plenty of paint and releases it evenly. You can draw long, even lines in one stroke without constantly reloading the brush. Because the tip tapers to a fine point, you can also place small details, outlines and signatures precisely. The long handle sits steadily in the hand and is easy to control. The medium-length bind makes the brush versatile: it has more body in the hair than a brush with a very short bind.

Working with the script liner

Thin the paint until it flows but does not run. The brush then draws clean lines and the tip keeps its shape. Load the paint with the belly of the brush and lightly wipe it off. Make the stroke with a relaxed wrist and light pressure; for long lines, work from the shoulder or forearm. After painting, rinse natural-hair brushes in lukewarm water, reshape the tip and leave the brush to dry lying flat. Never stand it in water on its hairs.
