A2 cutting mat – self-healing mat for clean cutting

The A2 cutting mat is a craft and cutting mat measuring 60 × 45 cm (600 × 450 mm). It serves as a cutting surface for craft knives, scalpels and cutters, and protects your tabletop from scratches, cuts and glue residue.

The mat is made of a robust, self-healing material: light cuts close up again, so the surface stays smooth and usable for longer. The size suits larger pieces such as sheets, card, film or lengths of fabric.

Using the cutting mat

Lay the mat flat on a sturdy table and place the material to be cut fully on top of it. Guide the blade along a ruler and make several light passes rather than one single heavy cut. This is kinder to the blade and the mat, and the cut will be straighter.

• Do not always cut in the same spot; use the whole surface.
• Work with a sharp blade, as blunt blades are more likely to tear paper and fabric.
• The mat is intended only as a cutting surface, not as an ironing surface.

Which size to choose

At 60 × 45 cm you have plenty of room for large sheets and cut pieces. For larger or smaller formats, the same cutting mat is also available in A1, A3 and A4.
