Meyco Cherry Stones 500 g – filling for heat pads and wheat bags

Meyco cherry stones are a natural filling for homemade heat pads and wheat bags. The bag contains 500 g of pure cherry stones. They hold heat for a long time and release it evenly. That makes them an alternative to a hot water bottle. You can warm them in the microwave.

Besides heat pads, you can also use the stones for cooling pads, wheat bags, or warming toys and teddy bears. The stones are not washable. Sew the pad with a removable cover that you can wash separately.

Making a cherry stone pad

First sew an inner pad from tightly woven cotton fabric with close stitching, so that no stones trickle out. Do not overfill it, otherwise it will no longer mould to your neck or shoulder. Close the opening carefully and put the inner pad into a cover that you can wash separately.

Warming the pad

Place the finished pad in the microwave and heat it at 600 watts for about 1 minute. Then mix the stones thoroughly by kneading the pad, so that the heat is evenly distributed. If needed, repeat the heating in short stages.
