Nickel-plated steel D-ring – for bags, belts and collars

The steel D-ring is a half-round ring that has been welded and nickel-plated. You can use it as a connecting link for handbags, belts, collars and similar projects. The manufacturer makes the rings to industrial standard, and the silver-coloured finish goes with many fittings.

As the ring is welded, it is closed. You therefore pass the strap or tape through the straight side and fix it in place, for example with stitching or rivets. Choose the size from the options.

Choosing the right D-ring

The straight side of the ring is what matters: its inner width should match the width of your strap or tape. Measure the width of the material before you choose. The wire thickness determines how sturdy the ring looks. For narrow tapes and small bags, choose a smaller size; for wider straps and belts, choose a larger one.

Use

Fold the end of the strap around the straight side of the ring and fix it with stitching or rivets. With leather, you can fold the end double so that the join stays secure.
