Wooden Tassel Maker – Make Tassels with Ease

The wooden tassel maker is a small tool for making tassels from wool or yarn yourself. You wind the yarn around the wooden card, tie off the bundle and cut it open on one side. You then have an even tassel, without having to measure each length of yarn separately.

You can attach the tassels to hats, scarves, cushions, bookmarks or decorations.

Making a tassel

Wind the yarn evenly around the wooden card. The more often you wind, the fuller the tassel. Then slide another piece of yarn under the windings, pull it tight and knot it: it holds the bundle together on one side. Next, cut the windings open along the opposite edge and slip the bundle off the card. The length of the tassel depends on the width you wind around. To make a tassel head, wrap another piece of yarn around the bundle a little below the tie.
