Efco balsa wood sheet A4 – balsa wood for cutting, crafting and model making

The Efco balsa wood sheet is a board of untreated balsa wood in A4 format (297 × 210 mm) for model making and craft projects. Because the wood has a low density, you can cut it with scissors, a craft knife or a cutting plotter. You can paint or stain the board, or leave it untreated.

The sheet is suitable for delicate model-making constructions and for decorative ideas such as greetings cards, scrapbook albums or decorative rings. Choose the thickness from the options. Thinner sheets are easier to cut and suit fine details. Thicker sheets hold their shape better.

Cutting balsa wood cleanly

Balsa wood is soft and splinters easily if the blade is blunt. Use a sharp knife, hold a ruler against the line and cut with several light strokes rather than pressing hard in one go. You can also trim thin sheets with scissors. Working on a cutting mat protects both the blade and the table.

Which thickness to choose

For fine details, templates and decorations, choose a thin sheet. For parts that need more support, such as frames or base panels in model making, choose a thicker sheet. You can glue several layers together if needed.
