UHU All Purpose Adhesive Extra Strong FLEXTUBE – clear, strong glue with an elastic bond line

UHU All Purpose Adhesive Extra Strong in the FLEXTUBE is a clear universal glue for the home, hobbies, repairs and model making. It bonds to wood, plastics such as ABS, PVC, Plexiglas® and polystyrene, and to metal, glass, porcelain, leather, rubber, felt, fabric and cardboard. Because it dries clear and stays elastic, it is particularly suitable for visible bonds and transparent materials.

The soft, unbreakable tube is easy to dose and does not drip. You can use the glue as a wet bonding method (one-sided application) or as a contact bonding method (two-sided application). It can even be used underwater, for example on pond liners made of soft PVC. The elastic adhesive film compensates for stresses between different materials. It is not suitable for Styropor®, PE and PP.

How to glue correctly

The surfaces to be bonded should be clean, dry and free of dust and grease. Apply the glue thinly: this is enough for a firm bond, and the joint stays clear on visible bonds. Work in well-ventilated rooms and away from ignition sources.

• Wet bonding: apply the glue to one surface, join the parts immediately and press firmly for a short time. The pressing time is approx. 2–5 seconds.
• Contact bonding: apply a thin layer of glue to both surfaces, leave to become tacky briefly, then press the parts together firmly.
• The bond reaches full strength after approx. 24 hours. Until then, you should not put any load on it.
• Close the tube tightly after use so that the glue does not dry out.

When is this glue the right choice?

This strong glue is the right choice when different materials need to be joined, for example wood to metal or leather to rubber. It is also used for craft projects, household repairs and model making. The adhesive film stays elastic and is resistant to water, oil, grease and dilute acids and alkalis. For Styropor®, PE and PP you need a different glue.
