Prym hooks and eyes No. 9 in black – fastenings for jackets and traditional costume

The Prym hooks and eyes No. 9 in black (art. no. 261458) are fastenings for heavier garments such as jackets and traditional costume. The pack contains 12 pieces. Unlike buttons, the coated iron hooks and eyes can be sewn in almost invisibly, so no button band interferes with the design of your fabric.

The fastenings are made of rust-protected iron and are completely burr-free according to Prym. This means the fabric is not damaged by sharp edges when you sew them on, and the hooks open and close easily.

How to sew in hooks and eyes

Sew the hook to the inside of the fastening edge and the eye to the opposite side, so that the loop projects slightly beyond the edge. Secure both parts with firm stitches through the loops at the end. Leave the tip of the hook free, otherwise the fastening will not close. For heavier fabrics such as jacket or traditional costume fabrics, strong thread works best.

Black or silver?

The same hooks and eyes in No. 9 are also available in silver. The black version suits dark fabrics, where a light-coloured fastening might stand out.
