Lang Yarns OCEANIA is a DK yarn made from 70% cotton and 30% viscose (Seacell), for jumpers, tops and other knitted pieces for the warmer months. One round ball weighs 50 g and has a length of approx. 140 m. Choose your colour from the options.

The special feature is the Seacell fibre: according to Lang Yarns, it is enriched with brown algae from the sea and is fully biodegradable. The cotton gives the yarn structure, while the viscose provides a soft handle.

What OCEANIA is suitable for

DK yarns sit between fine sock yarn and chunky yarn. With 3.5–4 mm needles you knit a fabric that suits lightweight jumpers, waistcoats, tops, children's clothes and accessories. The yarn is made from plant fibres and contains no virgin wool. According to the manufacturer, wash it with detergent for delicates, without fabric softener.

Planning quantities and tension

Lang Yarns gives the yarn requirements as approx. 450 g for a women's size M, approx. 600 g for a men's size M and approx. 300 g for a child aged 10. These are only a guide, and the quantity you actually need depends on the design. With 50 g per ball and approx. 140 m per ball, you can convert your quantity directly into balls. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide. Lang Yarns states 22 stitches and 30 rows over 10 × 10 cm.
