Merino 120 from Lang Yarns is a DK yarn made from 100% virgin wool (extrafine merino, mulesing-free) with a superwash finish. You can knit jumpers, cardigans, shawls, accessories and baby clothes with it. According to the manufacturer, it is spun from particularly fine, highly crimped merino fibres. This makes it soft, supple, elastic and shape-retaining.

One ball weighs 50 g and has a length of approx. 120 m. The length lets you work out the yarn requirements for your pattern with ease. Choose your colour from the options.

Knitting with Merino 120

The needle size of 3.5–4.5 mm suits DK yarn and works well for jumpers, cardigans and shawls in a smooth stitch pattern. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide. The manufacturer gives 22 stitches and 32 rows over 10 × 10 cm. Buy the whole quantity from the same dye lot if possible, so that there are no colour differences.

How much yarn do you need?

The quantity needed depends on the pattern. According to the manufacturer, the guide quantities for a jumper are:

• Women's size M: approx. 600 g (approx. 12 balls)
• Men's size M: approx. 750 g (approx. 15 balls)
• Child aged 10: approx. 450 g (approx. 9 balls)

Care

Thanks to the superwash finish, the merino wool is machine washable. Use a detergent for delicates or wool and no fabric softener, so that the fibres stay soft and elastic.
