Prym double-pointed knitting needles 40 cm – DPNs for knitting in the round

With the 40 cm Prym double-pointed knitting needles you knit in the round, for example socks, hats or gloves. Each needle has a point at both ends, so you can work from either end. One set contains 4 needles on a card.

The needles are made of pearl grey aluminium with a smooth surface, so the stitches glide easily. The grey colour makes the stitch pattern easy to see. The thicker sizes are made of plastic. Choose the needle size from the options.

Knitting with double-pointed needles

When knitting in the round, you usually divide the stitches between three needles and knit with the fourth. Because each needle has two points, you always work from one point to the next and do not need to turn the needles. The 40 cm length is designed for small-circumference projects with few stitches, such as socks, gloves or the crown shaping of a hat.

Which needle size to choose

The needle size depends on your yarn and your pattern. Follow the ball band of the yarn and, if in doubt, knit a tension swatch. Smaller sizes give a firmer fabric, larger ones a looser one.
