Light brown faux leather paper – leather look, worked like paper or fabric

This light brown faux leather paper, 50 × 100 cm, looks like leather and can be worked like paper or fabric. It gives you the leather look without real leather, for example for labels, envelopes or small accessories. It is made from cellulose and latex.

The 50 × 100 cm size is well suited to cutting several pieces from one sheet. Draw the pieces on first and plan them so that little waste is left.

Working with faux leather paper

When dry, the material is smooth and somewhat firmer. When damp, it is easier to work, for example when shaping or folding. If you would like a more rustic, livelier surface, wash the paper: washing makes it look more rustic. You can iron the reverse at a low temperature. Try the iron setting on an offcut first, before ironing the whole piece.
