Schmincke AKADEMIE Watercolour Metal Box, 12 Half Pans

Schmincke AKADEMIE Watercolour Box – 12 Half Pans in a Metal Box

The Schmincke AKADEMIE watercolour metal box is a compact metal paint box with 12 half pans of watercolour paint. According to the manufacturer, AKADEMIE watercolour paint is made with a high concentration of quality pigments. The twelve shades range from light yellow through red, blue and green to ochre, sepia and black. This gives you a basic range for painting and mixing, for example for getting started with watercolour painting.

Which colours are included?

The box contains one half pan each of 222 Hellgelb zitron, 225 Indischgelb, 332 Kadmiumrotton, 333 Karmin, 443 Ultramarin, 445 Preußischblau, 551 Brillantgrün, 553 Permanentgrün, 660 Lichter Ocker, 666 Englischrot, 665 Sepia and 782 Schwarz. With two yellows, two reds, two blues and two greens, plus ochre, sepia and black, you can mix many more shades yourself.

Working with the box

Moisten the paint in the pan with a drop of water and let it soften briefly, then pick it up evenly with the brush. Mix the shades on the lid, which you can use as a mixing palette. The paint is also easy to control on softer watercolour papers. When a pan is empty, you can replace it: the pans are easy to release from the metal clips. After painting, leave the box open to dry before you close it, so that the colours do not stick together.
