Faber-Castell Grip 1345 – 0.5 mm mechanical pencil with rubberised grip zone

The Faber-Castell Grip 1345 in rose shadows is a mechanical pencil for fine lines and notes at the office, at school or on the go. The line width is 0.5 mm and the hardness grade is B. B is a soft lead that draws dark, clearly visible lines.

The lead is spring-mounted and slides back as you write if you press too hard, so it breaks less often. The tip retracts at the push of a button, keeping it protected in a bag or pencil case. The rubberised grip zone sits non-slip in the hand, which helps when writing for longer. Under the cap at the end there is a twist-out eraser, and on the barrel a metal clip for a notebook or bag.

Using the mechanical pencil

Press the button at the end until the lead protrudes to the length you want. Write with the lead sticking out as little as possible, as it is then less likely to break under pressure. To erase, twist the eraser out a little and twist it back in after use. When the lead is used up, replace it with a new 0.5 mm lead. With hardness grade B, graphite smudges more easily than with hard leads, so place a sheet of paper under your hand while writing.
